The Department of General Services ensures that safe, reliable fleet vehicles and equipment are available for Metro business, and to ensure that these assets remain in a state of constant readiness. In order to ensure that the Office of Fleet Management provides these units as safely and reliably as possible with minimal downtime we have developed multiple business partnerships with local vendors as well as original equipment manufacturers. The Office of Fleet Management Business office division helps to maintain and foster these relationships and all associated process through contract management, invoicing, and a contracted parts program.
Contract Management
The objective of Office of Fleet Management - Contract Management is to ensure the Metro Nashville fleet of vehicles are safely and effectively maintained within manufacturers recommendations, with minimal possible downtime by employing multiple contracted vendors throughout the Metropolitan Nashville area. The process of reviewing and maintaining these contracts by Office of Fleet Management is developed in close cooperation with the department of Finance and Procurement to assist in providing guidance and assistance to contract these services while making the most informed decisions ensuring that Office of Fleet Management is employing these services via the most cost-effective options available.
Invoicing
With the process of utilizing the vendors that the Office of Fleet Management has contracted with, in maintaining the Metro Nashville Fleet, the objective of the billing team is to ensure that we are billed appropriately for services rendered in the timeliest and most cost effective means available. Additionally, this team works to ensure that a positive business relationship is maintained by Metro Nashville and the vendors ensuring that all invoices are received and paid timely helping to foster a positive business relationship.
Parts
The Office of Fleet Management - Parts Departments objective is to ensure that a steady flow of original equipment quality parts and supplies are available to provide to maintain Garage Operations in an efficient manner seeking to minimize both cost and downtime. This is completed using a parts on demand model minimizing both the financial burden, and risk to Metro Nashville with constant tracking, review, and oversight.
