As of July 1, 2024: per Tennessee Senate Public Chapter 1061 of 2024, all patients less than 18 years of age will be required to have signed or verbal consent by a legal parent or guardian prior to receiving all health department services. Please plan for any patients less than 18 years of age to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If the parent or legal guardian cannot accompany the minor to a visit, verbal consent must be obtained from the parent or guardian prior to receiving services. This law does not apply to legally emancipated minors.

- All primary screening provider sites (community health centers) provide referrals for breast and cervical diagnostic services in accordance with approved Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program guidelines.
- Patient navigation services will be provided to assist with appointment scheduling and completion.
- Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program primary provider sites will provide patient navigation/case management to individuals diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer and who need treatment.
- Some screening/enrollment sites will require that you establish as a patient before enrollment in the breast and cervical screening program. They will assist you to navigate all your healthcare needs.
- This program is supported by Tennessee Department of Health and Susan G. Komen® Central Tennessee.

- Nashville/Davidson County has a network of providers for mammography screening and diagnostics and follow up for abnormal Pap tests.
- Contact one of the primary screening providers (community health centers) or the local health department for more information or to refer an individual for service.
- The program accepts referral of individuals for diagnostic services if they meet the general eligibility guidelines.

Case Management / Patient Assistance
Uninsured individual diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer or undergoing treatment for breast or cervical cancer may qualify for TennCare. Patient must meet eligibility requirements. Talk with your healthcare provider or contact your local health department. If you do not qualify for TennCare / Medicaid, you will be referred to other resources to assist with treatment.
