During the course of property transfers, documentation regarding the status of an existing septic system may be requested. This division will provide such a service for properties in Davidson County utilizing septic systems. After you have determined the map and parcel number or tax ID number of the property, contact us to submit a request. Upon the receipt of the necessary information and fee, this division will visit the property, conduct an assessment of the septic system, and report our findings. We do not enter any dwellings or structures during this assessment. A septic system assessment will include the following:
- A site investigation to determine obvious code violations, visual sewage related problems, and potential threats that might endanger or reduce the longevity and efficiency of the system.
- A historical summary of the property as evident in the Environmental Engineering Services’ files.
- If it is determined that public sanitary sewer is available for connection to the property being investigated, our report of the assessment will consist of a 60-day notification to connect to the public sanitary sewer system.
Please return to the Septic and Waste Disposal Systems page for information on how to contact us and links to property information and fee information.
