When is Sick Too Sick for School?
Keep Your Child at Home If…
Your child has been told to stay out of school by a medical provider, School Nurse or the Health Department, etc.
If you have any of these symptoms:
- Temperature above 100.4 F without the use of fever reducing medication
- New Loss of Taste or Smell
- Throwing Up
- Chills
- Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing
- Diarrhea
- Rash (covering entire body)
Your Child May Come to School When…
- All symptoms are gone and there has been no fever for 24 hours without use of medication.
- A provider writes a note for your student to return to school.
- The student has provided documentation required according to MNPS policy.
