Families preparing for the start of the school year can receive their immunizations at expanded hours at Metro Public Health Department (MPHD) locations beginning Monday, July 29. Students are required to show proof of immunizations prior to kindergarten and 7th grade entry. Students new to MNPS are also required to show proof of immunizations.
Along with extended hours for back-to-school shot clinics at the Lentz Public Health Center, East Health Center and Woodbine Health Center, the Immunization Records division at MPHD will remain open until 5:30 p.m. each day through August 23. The Immunization Records division is located on the second floor at the Lentz Public Health Center. Immunization requirements for students can be found at Immunizations Requirements in Public Schools.
Expanded immunization hours are specific to each MPHD location. Families with children entering Kindergarten, seventh grade or MNPS Schools for the first time are encouraged to make an appointment now by calling your location of choice.

Those with private health insurance are encouraged to reach out to their family’s health care provider to schedule an appointment for immunizations. A full list of mobile immunization clinics can be found at Summer 2024 Back to School Physicals and Immunizations Calendar.
