Join Metro Animal Care and Control in our annual Operation Silent Night event. Our goal is for every homeless pet to spend the holidays in the comfort of a warm home. Short-term foster homes are vital to achieving this goal so we can empty the shelter. Volunteers can pick up a foster dog from the shelter on Sunday and Monday, December 22 and 23. All supplies are provided and staff can help match you with the appropriate pet. Holiday fostering is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and make a homeless pet’s holiday so much brighter.
Animal Care volunteers with Friends of Animal Carewill host adoptable dogs at two off-site locations from 9:30am to 12noon on Saturday, December 21 to meet with potential adopters and fosters. Volunteers will be available to answer questions about fostering, adoption, volunteering, and to accept donations for the shelter animal’s holiday wishlist. Visit our volunteers and adoptable dogs at Nashville Pet Products, 7085 Old Harding Pike and 2621 Cruzen Street.
All adoption fees are reduced to just $25, which includes spay/neuter, microchipping, and initial vaccinations. Over 50 animals are available for adoption and foster. Available animals can be previewed on PetHarbor.com. Animals are also highlighted on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
We are open seven days-a-week for adoption from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with special evening hours on Thursday until 6 p.m. We are located at 5125 Harding Place, Nashville, TN 37211. The shelter will be closed on December 24 and December 25.
