At the District Councilmember’s request, the Planning Department is studying the Oceola Area. In the past few years, this area has experienced a lot of redevelopment. Planners are studying current land uses, zoning, land use policies, and infrastructure needs for properties in the study area.
Planners want to hear from community members. Please join us as we host a conversation about the future of the Oceola Area. We want to hear from you about what you would like to see in this area in the future. What can be done to improve your experience today? What should we focus on? What are your priorities?
Thanks to everyone who took the time to attend and participate in our June 20 Workshop. Participants spent time talking one-on-one with planners sharing concerns and ideas. Planners gained a lot of history and insight into the community. What do people like most and dislike most? What is your number one priority for Metro to assist the community with? What are people's additional thoughts and comments? Planners also gathered information on stormwater concerns and transportation network ideas.
Our next community meeting is Tuesday, July 30 at 5:30 p.m at Zeal Church (5807 Charlotte Pike). where planners will further refine priorities and discuss next steps.
