Greg Claxton joined the Planning Department in 2012 as a Community Planner working on NashvilleNext. In 2016, he began leading the Department’s Capital Planning and Grants team, focusing on aligning Nashville’s capital improvements and implementation efforts with the General Plan.

Greg previously worked as a planner in Austin, Texas, and Springfield, Illinois, and in survey research and program evaluation at the University of Nevada, Reno, and University of Maryland, College Park. He has a master’s degree in Urban Planning and a certificate in Industrial Ecology from the University of Michigan and a bachelor of arts in Sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
