Nashville Point In Time Counts
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires each Continuum of Care across the nation to conduct a one-night census of people sleeping in emergency shelters, transitional beds, on the streets, in encampments, and in other places not meant for human habitation. The federal government is collecting this data from more than 400 localities across the nation to send a detailed report on homelessness to Congress. That report usually is released in November.
Nashville's 2020 Point In Time was conducted on January 23 and was organized by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) in collaboration with the Office of Homeless Services and the Homelessness Planning Council.
