Homeless Management Information System New Agency/Project Setup Form

In determining Homeless Management Information System project types, we use HUD's definition of "homelessness," which means clients come to your project from the following living situations:

Directly from the streets, an emergency shelter, or a place not meant for human habitation.

or

An institutional setting (such as jail, a hospital, or psychiatric facility) where their stay was 90 days or less AND they were living on the streets, in an emergency shelter, or a safe haven immediately prior to entering the institution.

or

Any other setting where their stay was 7 nights or less AND they were living on the streets, in an emergency shelter, or a safe haven immediately prior to entering the other setting.

Does this program have a specific Target Population?

A population is considered a "target population" if the project is a) intended to serve that population and b) at least three-fourths (75%) of the clients served by the project fit that target group.
