Nashville/Davidson County's Public Protection Classification
Nashville/Davidson County has a Public Protection Classification of 03/3X.
Addresses within 5 road miles of a fire station, and within 1000 feet of a fire hydrant, the rating of 3 applies.
Addresses within 5 road miles of a station, but greater than 1000 feet of a hydrant the rating is 3X.
There are a few areas of Davidson County that are considered Class 10 if they are beyond the road miles and hydrant distance mentioned above.
Class 10W
ISO has created a new Public Protection Classification water class called 10W. This would be for properties more than 5 miles from the nearest responding station but less than 7 miles from that station with a creditable water source. According to the ISO website “Class 10W is property-specific. Not all properties in the 5-to-7-mile area around the responding station will qualify.”
