Tennessee Task Force-2 (TN-TF2) Urban Search and Rescue Team is a local, state asset team that is derived from personnel of several Metropolitan Nashville Departments. With only 6 hours notice, this group can be on its way with 35 – 70 highly trained members; that responds to natural and man-made disasters to provide search and rescue, structural shoring, medical support and communications. The team is deployed with a Task Force Leader (TFL), Structural Engineers and Search and Rescue Specialist with canines and handlers, Heavy Rescue Specialists, Medical manager-Physician and Medical Specialists. Logistics Specialists and Communications Specialists.
- The US&R team consists of 125 members from multiple agencies in and around Nashville Metropolitan Area.
- All team members are trained to the NFPA 1670 Structural Collapse Technician level.
- All team members are IFSAC-certified to the NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Operations level.
- Teams receive specialized training in Medical Specialist, Technical Information Specialist, Structure Specialist, Heavy Equipment and Rigging Specialist, Technical Search Specialist, Canine Search Specialist, Logistic Specialist and Communications Specialist.
