Nashville Fire Department Fire Investigators are asking for the public's help to identify a person of interest caught on tape setting fire to trash cans at First Apostolic Church at 265 Broadmoor Drive at 2:15 a.m. on January 16, 2025.
Fire Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have information regarding the person who set the fires, causing substantial damage to the exterior of the gymnasium at the location.
Nashville Fire Department crews were dispatched to 265 Broadmoor Drive for reports of a fire. When crews arrived on scene, they found a fenced in trash area next to a church on fire. While working, crews found smoke coming from the siding and insulation behind the paneling of the exterior wall. They removed the smoldering paneling to fully extinguish the exposed area. No injuries were reported.
Fire Investigators were advised that a church had been damaged. After speaking with a parishioner and locating video footage, a person of interest was observed causing the fire.
The subject was recorded walking between buildings at the church, opening a trash can and setting the contents on fire. The subject leaves the area with the trashcan still on fire which in turn catches the wooden enclosure on fire.
