Metro Water Services encourages the involvement of our customers and offers numerous opportunities to get involved.
The public may participate in decisions concerning Metro Water Services by attending the Metropolitan Council meetings held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the Council chambers in the Metro Courthouse, One Public Square.
We also conduct customer surveys, focus groups, community meetings and provide ongoing communications with our various customer groups. To get involved or request more information about customer involvement, please contact our Public Information Office at 615-862-4494.
Development Advisory Group
In 2003, Metro Water Services implemented the Trades Advisory Council, and in 2007, the Stormwater Advisory Council, to facilitate improved communication of MWS development procedures and policies.
In 2014, Metro’s Development Services Center, a one-stop service center designed to provide the development customer with a streamlined, efficient and customer friendly way to conduct business with the Metropolitan Government, was opened.
In support of this, we combined the existing advisory councils and coordinated the effort to implement a Development Advisory Group with the purpose and goal to continue to improve the Metro Nashville’s development process and customer service. This group consists of representatives from the various Metro departments and agencies, with an interest in the permit process (Public Works, Water Services, Fire Marshal, Health Department, Historic Commission, Planning Commission, and others) and an even broader customer base that focuses on all aspects of the process.
