Metro serves as an overflow shelter to support Nashville’s shelter capacity needs. Individuals are encouraged to use long-term shelters before seeking the emergency overflow shelter.
Shelter Operations
- Hours: Open 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
- Facilities: Hot meals and snacks available; showers under review.
- Sleeping Arrangements: Mats and cots are provided.
- Pet Policy: Dogs are allowed, with kennels provided. Pets must be kenneled during transport.
Shelter Access Information
Eligibility: Single adults, couples, young adults, registry participants, and pet owners. No children allowed.
- Location: 3230 Brick Church Pike
- Activation Criteria: 32°F threshold for emergency operations, announced by 9 a.m. daily.

- Parking: Available at the shelter.
- Bus Access: Line #23B from WeGo Central (400 Dr. MLK Blvd); Free after 7:00 p.m.; Return bus pass will be provided. (See page 4 for other areas with free shuttle service access.)
