Reservations can be made year round for the months of April through October. You may only reserve one year in advance of the date you are requesting. The only time shelters are reserved in the month of March is when Easter weekend falls in March.

Picnic Shelter Rental Rules
Payment for a shelter rental is due no later than 14 days after the date of the Sales Receipt. Payment may be mailed to:

If payment is not received before the due date reservation will be canceled and made available to the general public. It is the renter's responsibility to confirm receipt of the Sales Receipt. The permit is not valid until the balance due on Sales Receipt equals zero. Metro Parks requires the permit holder to have a printed copy of the permit (Sales Receipt showing payment was made; zero balance) with them during the course of the reservation; a permit on a smartphone is invalid. Failure to do so could result in immediate termination of the reservation.
To receive a refund you will need to cancel in writing 30 days prior to your reservation date.No refunds are issued based on inclement weather, lawn conditions or the conditions of restrooms. Picnic shelters are rented "as is". Metro Parks' grounds are mowed on a 14 day mowing cycle and Metro Parks does not guarantee the condition of the lawn or anything outside the immediate shelter.Metro Parks does not provide grills, water, lights and/or electricity for picnic reservations. Grills may be brought but if left on site will be disposed of, and dumping of charcoal is strictly prohibited and may result in a fine.Ball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, concession stands and other amenities are not a part of the shelter reservation. Ball fields must be reserved through the Athletic Department at 615-862-8405. The shelter reservation only includes the covered shelter and 30-feet perimeter around the shelter.
Excessive trash left in a shelter after a reservation is prohibited. Metro Parks suggest you bring a broom and extra trash bags.Please be sure to place ALL trash in trash receptacles, tie up trash bags if overflowing to keep trash from blowing around the park, and leave shelter clean upon your departure or a fine will be imposed.
It is the responsibility of the renter to determine if keys for restrooms and/or gates are necessary. Keys require a deposit of $50.00 cash only. Keys are due back the next working day after a reservation or deposit will be forfeited.
In the event a change needs to be made to a reservation it is the permit holder’s responsibility to make arrangements to reach us by phone at 615-862-8408 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon or come by in person between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. We must have written request to make any changes after payment has been received.No changes will be permitted after the date of the initial reservation.

Additional Information
In the event of safety or security issues, or if another group is utilizing the shelter upon your arrival please politely inform them that you have reserved the shelter by permit and that your permitted time is beginning. If you foresee problems please step away from the shelter and contact the Metro Park Police at 615-880-3429 for assistance. If you do not reach the park police immediately, please call the Metro Police non-emergency number at 615-862-8600 and inform them that you need a park police and they will dispatch one. Once the park police arrive you may speak with them regarding your rental.
The permit holder will be responsible for reimbursing Metro for the cost of repairing damages directly or indirectly caused by the permit holder or their guests, normal wear and tear expected.
The discovery of false or misleading information regarding the applicant or the described event activities will result in the rejection of the permit, revocation of approval of use of the park property and / or denial of future request to access park property and penalty fees will be imposed.
Shelter rentals are subject to rules and regulations of the Metro Board of Parks and Recreation Department, Nashville, Tennessee. It is expected that any facilities used be left in a neat and orderly fashion. Drinking or possession of beer and alcoholic beverages, vending or selling is prohibited.
A convenience fee is added to all credit and debit card transactions processed by Metro Government. The fee of 2.3% is assessed by a third party company and no part of the fee goes to Metro.
