Description
Please join Metro Historical Commission Archaeologist Dr. Adam Fracchia as he conducts archaeological excavations inside historic Fort Negley ahead of the park’s master plan renovations.
The general public is invited to assist in excavation work or just view the work in progress.
Participants are encouraged to wear sun protection, long pants, and gloves and bring proper hydration.
Excavations are contingent on good weather. Changes in the schedule will be communicated to registered participants.

Work is being conducted by under the supervision of a trained archaeologist with approval from Metro Parks. Metal detectors, relic hunting, and digging are strictly prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted. (Metro Ordinance BL2011-834)
