Wharf Park is an approximately 25-acre undeveloped property located on the Cumberland River near downtown Nashville. In early 2020, Metro Parks launched a master planning process to collaborate with the community to establish a vision for the future of the site. The master planning process was frozen during most of the COVID-19 shutdown. In the spring of 2021, Metro Parks relaunched the project.
Public Meetings: Round One
A first round of public engagement meetings was held in early August 2021. We hosted two sessions: One on August 3 at Napier Community Center and the other on August 4 at the Howard School Building (Sonny West conference room).
These meetings were a great opportunity to learn more about the site and listen to your ideas about future needs, uses and concerns. The two events hosted a total of 107 attendees with over ten local and regional stakeholder groups represented and more than 400 comments recorded. Presentation materials and a record of public comments can be viewed at the links below.
Public Meetings: Round Two
A second round of public engagement meetings was held in late January 2022. We hosted three sessions: the first one was on January 19 at Midtown Police Precinct. The second session was virtual on January 21 on Facebook Live. The third session took place on January 22 at Napier Park Community Center. In addition, the Nashville Civic Design Center hosted a virtual presentation on January 20. At all events, concepts for site development were presented by the planning team for community feedback. Presentation materials and a record of public comments can be viewed at the links below.
