Construction is currently underway for Phase 1 of the new pocket park at 1606 Jefferson Street. Initially developed by Metro Water Services to detain storm water in underground cisterns, the 0.4 acre site, located in the heart of the Jefferson Street historic corridor, will ultimately be a civic space where Nashvillians can engage history, culture and community. The first phase includes construction of a play area, plaza space, lawns, bio retention pits and a mural wall. This project has been funded by MDHA through a community development grant.
Project Completion by Summer 2020. Implementation of future phases will be done as funding becomes available.
Getting Your Input!
Metro Parks and the Nashville Civic Design Center have hosted two public meetings to introduce the community to the park site, present draft park plans and receive feedback.
