The Battle of Nashville was the last major battle in the western theater of the Civil War. More than 80,000 soldiers prepared for two weeks in wintry conditions before two days of fighting sent Confederates retreating. The Federal Army’s decisive victory was secured with the service of more than 10,000 black soldiers organized in segregated units called the US Colored Troops.
Demonstrations provided by:
- 13th United States Colored Troops
- 10th Illinois, Company H
- 9th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry
- Stones River National Battlefield
- Johnsonville State Historic Park
- 1st Chicago Light Artillery, Battery A
