Lorita Marsh
Crime Lab Assistant DirectorLorita Marsh received her Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University with a major in Industrial Studies, Emphasis: Education and minor in Secondary Education.
Lorita began her career with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department in September of 1991 assigned to Prisoner Processing. In addition to processing of inmates, she administered Breath Alcohol Testing, intake of evidence, and issuance of Metro Warrants.
Lorita took an interest in fingerprints after attending a Fingerprint Identification class sponsored by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Identification Section. She transferred to the Identification Section in 1995 where she was promoted to Police ID Specialist. She trained and worked in the Tenprint Unit with transition to the Latent Print Unit. In 1998 she was promoted to Police ID Analyst and 2005 to Police ID Analyst II. She has completed numerous Fingerprint Identification schools sponsored by the FBI and the International Association for Identification. She was promoted to Latent Print Supervisor in 2011 and transitioned to Forensic Supervisor/Technical Lead in 2015.
In 2014, Lorita was instrumental in the process of incorporating the existing Latent Print Unit into the newly developed Metropolitan Nashville Police Department Crime Laboratory.
Lorita took on the assignment of Crime Laboratory Assistant Director January 2022.
Lorita has been a member of the International Association for Identification since 1997 and the TN Division of the International Association for Identification since 1998. She is a Certified Latent Print Examiner.
