The “El Protector” program has been designed to fully integrate the MNPD Community Oriented Policing Services philosophy to engage the Hispanic/Latino community in Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, in reducing DUIs, traffic fatalities, domestic violence and in crime prevention. This program places special emphasis on people with limited English speaking abilities. In addition, this bilingual/bicultural program provides public education through dialogue with the Hispanic/Latino community, instead of focusing specifically on enforcement measures.
Mission
To create an outreach program that strengthens the relationship between the Hispanic/Latino community and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, built in collaboration with community stakeholders.
