While School Resource Officers have been in Metro Schools for decades, the School Safety Division was established in August 2022. The division was created to enhance the safety of students and teachers throughout the school year.
The Mission of the School Safety Division is to promote safe learning environments for education campuses across Nashville and Davidson County through the construction of empowering partnerships, meaningful deterrence, collaborative education, and effective response.
