Officers are on the lookout for a black Acura sedan with a temp tag, the driver of which cut off a semi-truck on Murfreesboro Pike near Philfre Court at 1:40 p.m. today in an apparent road rage incident that resulted in the truck driver being shot.
South Precinct detectives believe the men in the Acura became angry when the semi-truck changed lanes from the right to the left while traveling outbound on Murfreesboro Pike. The car traveled around the truck and then changed lanes from the left to the right, blocking the truck’s path. The two men got out and walked up to the semi. One of them fired a shot through the door. The 40-year-old truck driver was hit in the midsection. He is being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is expected to recover.
Anyone with information about the car and/or the two men inside it is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
