Chief John Drake has just been elected President of the Board of Directors for the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), the nation’s preeminent independent research organization that focuses on critical issues in policing. The results of the nominations and elections process were announced to the membership this week.
“I am honored to lead PERF’s Board as we carry on the important work of advancing law enforcement professionalism while delivering information on issues and cutting-edge practices in policing,” Chief Drake said.
“John Drake exemplifies the qualities that will make him a great PERF president,” said Chuck Wexler, PERF’s Executive Director. “John’s commitment to best practices in policing and his strong engagement with the Nashville community reflect the values of our organization.”
PERF, based in Washington, D.C., has more than 3,000 members. Those on the Board of Directors all lead law enforcement agencies. In addition to Chief Drake, those on the board include:
- Chief Kathy Lester, Sacramento, California Police Department, Vice President
- Chief Brian O’Hara, Minneapolis Minnesota Police Department, Secretary
- Commissioner Robert Tracy, St. Louis, Missouri Police Department, Member-At-Large
- Chief Ana Lalley, Elgin, Illinois Police Department, Member-At-Large
- Chief Johnny Jennings, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Member-At-Large
- Chief Constable Adam Palmer, Vancouver Police Department, Ex-Officio Member
