The Nashville community will have the opportunity this week to offer last respects to North Precinct Commander Anthony McClain, a 27-year MNPD veteran, who died on March 9 from complications of a medical crisis suffered in his office on February 13.
Public visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., at New Generation Funeral Home, 2930 Murfreesboro Pike.
The Celebration of Life service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 5892 Nolensville Pike. A visitation period with the family will take place at the church from 10 a.m.-11 a.m.
A memorial procession to honor Commander McClain will begin after the service as he is taken from Lake Providence Church to Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery via Old Hickory Boulevard to Highway 100 to McCrory Lane. Due to limited space at the cemetery, persons who are not immediate family, close friends or MNPD co-workers are asked to consider exiting the procession at the Brentwood I-65 intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard.
