Homicide Unit detectives are investigating Thursday night’s fatal, targeted shooting of a 29-year-old man on Jenna Lee Circle. The initial investigation, led by Homicide Detective Chris Cote, indicates the 29-year-old and a 32-year-old friend, Ronald Russell, were at the location in an attempt to rob a 30-year-old man when gunfire started.
The 29-year-old was struck multiple times during an exchange of gunfire. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he died.
Efforts are being made to notify his next of kin at this time.
The 30-year-old, Trent Hull, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is in critical, but stable condition at this time.
Russell walked into General Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder.
After a search warrant was executed at the location on Friday, a large number of narcotics were found inside the residence. Two firearms and two shell casings were located at the scene.
Russell was charged with attempted especially aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
The investigation is continuing.
