The man fatally shot in a parking lot at 2510 Murfreesboro Pike Sunday at 2:40 a.m. is identified as Raybon Porter, 25.
At least two vehicles had reportedly pulled into the parking lot, which is a strip mall, when the occupants began firing guns. It is unknown if the gunfire was indiscriminate or directed at one of the vehicles. Porter, who was leaning into the window of a parked car talking with one of his friends, was struck in the back. It does not appear that he was the intended target. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
Porter and his friends had been at Illuzion Bar and Lounge which is in the mall.
