Update: The white Dodge Caravan suspected of being involved in this fatal collision was found tonight abandoned on I-40 east between the Donelson Pike and Stewarts Ferry Pike exits. A Traffic Division officer on his way home spotted the van and recovered it. The investigation is continuing.
The public’s assistance is being sought in identifying the hit and run driver of a minivan that Saturday at 9 p.m. struck and killed pedestrian Rene Choc-Caal, 47, of Nashville.
Choc-Caal was crossing at the intersection of E. Thompson Lane and Lawndale Drive when he was struck by a white minivan, a1995 to 2000 Dodge Caravan with a nonfunctioning driver’s side headlight and possible damage to the driver’s side headlight area.
Anyone with information about the driver or the minivan (surveillance photos attached) is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
