Violent Crimes Division detectives arrested two men last night that evaded a traffic stop at Elm Hill and Donelson Pikes with methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, crack cocaine and a gun inside their Cadillac sedan. The Cadillac had a license plate that came back to a Nissan Titan pickup truck, which prompted the traffic stop.
The Cadillac fled at a high rate of speed before detectives attempted to disable the vehicle with spike strips. The Cadillac swerved, trying to avoid the strips, and crashed into a drainage culvert then a residential fence on Kings Lane.
The driver, Jeremy Bowden, 27, ran from the Cadillac, but was quickly taken into custody. His passenger, David Kinnard, 58, complied and was also arrested.
A loaded handgun was recovered near the vehicle as well as a handbag outside the driver's door with crystal meth, plastic pipes, and other small baggies inside.
A glass pipe, scale and several types of drugs, including fentanyl, were recovered from inside the Cadillac.
Bowden, who was convicted of aggravated robbery in 2019, was charged Thursday with more than a dozen drug, traffic and weapon related charges. He remains jailed today on $105,000 bond.
Kinnard was charged with two counts of drug possession. He also remains jailed on $4,000 bond.
