Project Description
This project will install pedestrian improvements along Gallatin Pike from Alta Loma Road to Liberty Lane. The project would curb and gutter, a 4’ grass strip, 14-foot shared-use path on both sides of Gallatin Pike, prepare sites for connection to future bus stops on the north/west side, improve signalized intersections with crosswalks and pedestrian countdown timers, make improvements to WeGo Transit bus stop locations on the south/east side of Gallatin Pike by adding a 14-foot shared-use path, and adding Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant upgrades where needed.
This project is federally funded, locally managed and is monitored by the TDOT Local Programs Development Office.
Project Funding: 80% Federal and 20% Local
- Length: 1.14 miles

Project Update: May 2024
Phase: Design
The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) and WeGo Transit leadership met with stakeholders to review and discuss proposed concept alternatives and typical sections for multi-use paths and transit improvements along the project corridor. Stakeholders have concurred on the proposed design concepts.
Look Ahead: A National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) re-evaluation is necessary due to design description/details differing from original NEPA document. Coordination with original NEPA engineer to perform the re-evaluation is in progress. Initial right-of-way plans are being developed and are estimated to be completed by end of July 2024.
