Quick-Build Projects
A quick-build project refers to initiatives designed for rapid implementation, typically 2 to 6 months. These projects focus on making immediate, impactful improvements to the transportation network using low-cost, flexible materials. Examples include pedestrian safety enhancements and traffic calming measures. The goal is to quickly address urgent safety and mobility needs while gathering data and community feedback to inform more permanent solutions.
Capital Projects
The Capital Projects Division is responsible for the oversight, management and implementation of stand-alone Metro funded capital improvement projects and locally managed state/federal grant funded projects under the oversight of the Tennessee Department (TDOT) of Transportation Local Programs Development Office (LPDO).

Bikeways
Nashville’s existing bikeways network comprises approximately 300 miles of bike facilities, ranging from shared street environments known as Neighborways to separated facilities which include conventional striped bike lanes as well as buffered and protected bike lanes and two-way cycletracks.
Sidewalks
The Nashville Department of Transportation is responsible for delivery of locally funded sidewalk projects within Davidson County. From planning through maintenance, our team is responsible for efficient delivery of sidewalk projects.
Road Paving
The Paving Office of the Nashville Department of Transportation is responsible for maintaining 2,447 centerline miles or 5,912 lane miles of roadways in Davidson County.
Bridges, Culverts, and Guardrails
The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is responsible for the design, inspection, and maintenance of bridges, culverts, and guardrails in Nashville and Davidson County.

Nashville Street Light Retrofit Project
The Nashville Street Light Retrofit Project is a partnership between the Mayor's Office, Nashville Electric Service (NES), and the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT). The projects is a streetlight overhaul that implements energy-efficient LED lighting that will save Nashville $20 million in energy costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 36,000 metric tons over the next 10 years, while improving safety and streetscape aesthetics for Nashvillians.
