The Development Services Division at the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is responsible for the review of all private development within Davidson County. This group ensures that private development complies with NDOT standards and specifications and national best engineering practices.
Private development must comply with Metro Nashville policies related to the Metro right-of-way such as the Major and Collector Street Plan, Downtown Code, Urban Design Overlays, WeGo Transit Design Guidelines, Nashville Streets and Pathways Lighting Manual, etc.
Plans are reviewed in coordination with the Planning Department, Codes and Building Safety, and Metro Water Services.
Development related site plans must be submitted electronically using NDOT's File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site.
Go to the Nashville Department of Transportation File Transfer Site.
If your firm does not have access to the site, contact NDOT Building Permits.
Submittal E-mail Addresses for Development Related Processes
Include the building permit number in the subject line of your email.
All requests are responded to in the order received; do not duplicate submissions and/or incomplete submittals as this will cause a delay in response.
