The Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grants Program is a two-stage initiative comprising Planning and Prototyping Grants (Phase I) and Implementation Grants (Phase II), is designed to support projects that advance smart technologies and innovative practices. The Leveraging Advanced Data to Deliver Multimodal Safety (LADDMS) team, a consortium including Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), Vanderbilt University, Tennessee State University, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), and other local stakeholders, previously received $2 million in Phase I. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville is proud to have been awarded $10 million for Phase II of the LADDMS initiative, marking a significant milestone in enhancing transportation safety for vulnerable road users.
