In addition to developing the new guidelines, the project team is working to identify potential bottlenecks or challenges in the existing Traffic Impact Study review process, and leverage technology to serve as a force multiplier for Nashville Department of Transportation staff. Some examples of potential improvement areas are the management of traffic count data submitted by consultants, tracking of review status and deadlines, and tracking of developer committed improvements.
While many of these digital tools will be internal to the Nashville Department of Transportation, the development community and general public will see the outward benefits through more efficient reviews and data collection cost savings.
