The continuing investigation into last December’s fatal drug overdose of Nashvillian Caroline Black, 35, at her residence in Curb Victory Hall on 12th Avenue South has led to the second-degree murder indictment of Johnny Wayne Tucker, 73, also a resident at Curb Victory Hall, who is alleged to have supplied Black with lethal fentanyl-laced heroin.
First responders were called to the apartment building last Christmas morning. Black was unconscious and was rushed to a local hospital where she died on December 27. Her cause of death was determined to be fentanyl toxicity.
This case is being handled by detectives from the Neighborhood Safety Unit, a component of the Specialized Investigations Division that works to identify the drug sources in overdose deaths.
A Criminal Court judge set bond for Tucker at $100,000.
