Mayor John Cooper and Chief John Drake will preside over Thursday’s graduation of 61 new Nashville police officers from two training academy classes (Sessions 95 and 96).
The ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Cornerstone Church, 726 W. Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison. Media representatives are invited. The ceremony will also be live streamed on the MNPD’s YouTube channel.
Session 95 is a basic class with 42 members and has been in training since February 16. Session 96 is a lateral class with 19 members who are transitioning their law enforcement careers from a number of different agencies across the country.
