Update: Last night, 16-year-old Brayan Sandoval-Ortuno came to MNPD headquarters to give a statement regarding his involvement with the homicide of Micah Pruitt. He confessed to firing at Pruitt during a narcotics transaction. As a result, he was arrested and charged in Juvenile Court with criminal homicide and aggravated assault.
Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing active leads in Wednesday’s shooting that killed Micah Pruitt, 18, and injured a 20-year-old man on Gallavista Avenue. The two men arrived at Skyline Medical Center just after 6 p.m. in a Toyota Camry, both with gunshot wounds.
The Camry, which was driven by the 20-year-old, had multiple bullet defects.Pruitt died after his arrival at the hospital.
The 20-year-old had non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and released.
The investigation indicates the shooting took place during an apparent drug transaction.
