Homicide Unit detectives are investigating whether Friday night's fatal shooting of Dontrail Spencer Jr., 23, inside the home at 2721 Hydes Ferry Road was accidental.
Officers responded to an 8:39 p.m. 911 call from the home to find it secured. They forced entry and found blood inside, but no individuals. At 9 p.m. General Hospital reported receiving a gunshot victim (Spencer) who arrived by private vehicle. With him were others who had been inside the home. Spencer died shortly after arrival.
An AR-style rifle was found inside the residence. The investigation is continuing. No charges have been placed.
