A known street racer was arrested yesterday following two unsanctioned meetups last summer. David Scott Smith, 25, of Hermitage, was charged with two counts of felony reckless endangerment and two counts of rioting after he was identified by MNPD Traffic investigators as the driver responsible for dangerous stunts performed in South Nashville intersections.
Smith surrendered and his 2008 Ford Mustang was impounded Monday. He alleged to be a part of a street racer group with ties to Nashville and Maury County.
The MNPD Traffic Division is committed to continuing its investigations into street racer groups that are causing damage and harm through their dangerous driving.
