Officers Sunday night arrested Shynithia L. Stone, 36, on a charge of vehicular homicide by recklessness for a crash on August 23 at the intersection of Ewing and Gwynnwood Drives that killed Nashvillian Tamika Petway, 46.
The investigation shows that Stone was driving a 2017 Infiniti QX60 SUV south on Gwynnwood Drive when she ran the stop sign at the Ewing Drive intersection and collided with the driver's side door of Petway's 2018 Chevrolet Camaro. Petway was rushed to Skyline Medical Center where she died. Stone was transported from the scene with non-critical injuries.
Analysis of the event data recorder in the Infiniti showed it was traveling between 47 mph and 52 mph just before impact. The speed limit was 30 mph.
Stone is being held in lieu of $76,000 bond.
