Three people are free on bond this morning after being arrested by Violent Crimes detectives last night with guns and drugs in a Chrysler 300. Detectives originally observed the group in a stolen Dodge Charger and before police could stop the vehicle, the occupants of the Charger got into the Chrysler underneath an overpass on I-65 at Apple Valley Drive.
The Charger was reported stolen from Nashville on November 25.
The Chrysler sped off when detectives initiated a traffic stop. MNPD Aviation observed the occupants throwing items from the window.
All three occupants were quickly apprehended after the Chrysler stopped at the dead end of Monticello Court. A toddler was also located in the vehicle at the time.
Freddie Calbert, 23, was identified as the driver of the Charger and passenger of the Chrysler, who attempted to flee on foot. Maurice Calbert, 29, was taken into custody from the driver’s seat of the Chrysler and Special Osborne, 23, from the rear passenger seat.
A large bag full of marijuana was found on Apple Valley Drive and two more were recovered from North Graycroft Avenue in the Chrysler’s path. Two handguns, a Glock pistol in the driver’s floorboard and a Sig P365 in Osborne’s purse, were taken from inside the Chrysler.
Freddie Calbert was charged with vehicle theft, felony weapon possession, possession of marijuana and evading arrest. He is free on $22,500 bond.
Maurice Calbert was charged with felony weapon possession, reckless endangerment, possession of marijuana and evading arrest. He is free on $15,000 bond.
Osborne was charged with joyriding, felony weapon possession and possession of marijuana. She is free on $12,000 bond.
