A Nashville man remains jailed this afternoon on $260,000 bond on a 26-count grand jury indictment for the sexual abuse of two children over the course of four years while caring for them at an unlicensed daycare facility he ran in his home.
The nearly year long investigation, led by the Youth Services Juvenile Sexual Assault Unit, found that Imran Malik, 55, had raped and assaulted two girls (both under age 10) while operating the unlicensed daycare in his Ashgrove Drive home. Malik was arrested Thursday by South Precinct officers.
One of the victims came forward in January stating her abuse started in 2015 when she was just five years old. A second victim’s abuse was discovered during the investigation with the same age range and time frame.
A grand jury indicted Malik on 14 counts of rape of a child, 8 counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of aggravated rape of a child and two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
