Larry Williams
Recruitment OfficerI have been a police officer with the Metro Nashville Police Department since the year 2000. I spent 6 years as a patrol officer in both Hermitage and Central Precincts. I then transferred to the School Resource Officer Unit and spent the next 15 years of my career there. As a School Resource Officer, I was certified as a D.A.R.E. and G .R.E.A.T. instructor and taught both curriculums in elementary and middle schools. I am currently assigned to the Recruitment Unit.
I am originally from Memphis Tennessee and moved to Nashville in 1995 to attend Tennessee State University. While at Tennessee State University, I majored in Criminal Justice until I joined the Metro Nashville Police Department and graduated the academy. I then finished my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
I wanted to join the police department because I wanted to help the community, make a difference in the live of children and be the change that I wanted to see.
