Specialized Investigations Division detectives this morning arrested Isaiah K. Moore, 19, on a charge of criminal homicide for Sunday morning’s fatal shooting of security guard Maurice Thomas Jr., 33, outside Illuzion Bar and Lounge, 2510 Murfreesboro Pike. Moore was taken into custody at the apartment of a relative on British Woods Drive.
The investigation shows that Moore and two accomplices were breaking into cars when Thomas approached them. He was shot multiple times during the confrontation. Security camera footage showed the suspects flee in a maroon Chevrolet Cruz, which was subsequently connected to Moore.
In addition to criminal homicide, Moore is also charged with three counts of vehicle burglary in the same parking lot on Sunday morning. Work continues to confirm the identities of the others involved and bring them into custody.
