The annual memorial service in tribute to Nashville’s officers who have died in the line of duty will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 108 7th Avenue South (7th and Broadway).
The service, sponsored by the Andrew Jackson Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, honors the 47 law enforcement professionals who have died in service to Nashvillians since 1875. Officer John Anderson was the last Metro officer killed in the line of duty. He died on the morning of July 4, 2019, when his police car was hit by another vehicle at the intersection of Interstate Drive and Woodland Street.
