A woman was arrested on Thursday morning after she robbed Joelton Discount Tobacco on 6120 Clarksville Pike and shot at the owner’s wife. Chelsea Earp, 26, pulled a semi-automatic handgun out of her white hoodie after entering the store and demanded money out of the register.
On Earp’s way out of the store, the owner’s wife, who was behind the counter at the time of the robbery, grabbed a revolver and followed Earp. Earp turned around and fired at the woman. The single bullet hit the glass door.
Earp left in a white Honda Accord with a spare tire on the rear passenger side. The owner recognized Earp, based on a friendship he has with her father, and was able to assist detectives with positively identifying her as the suspect.
Earp is charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. She is being held on a $100,000 bond.
