Officers throughout the city are on the lookout for suspected murderer Brandon Horton, 30, who is wanted for this afternoon’s shooting death of his ex-girlfriend, Temptress Peebles, 30, outside her Morena Street home. Horton fled in a black midsize Chevrolet SUV.
According to witnesses, Horton and Peebles were arguing outside the residence when Horton shot her. Officers quickly responded and found Peebles lying in the street. Her 8-year-old daughter was present at the time of the shooting. She ran to a neighbor’s house.
At the time of today’s shooting, Horton was wanted for probation violation and on outstanding warrants charging him with domestic assault and burglary of a motor vehicle for an October 6 incident involving Peebles. She reported that she had walked from her residence to her parked car on Morena Street when Horton attacked her, throwing her to the ground and punching her in the face causing lacerations and injuring her eye. Horton then took Peebles’ purse from her car and fled. Horton also had outstanding warrants charging him with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary for a July incident in which Peebles reported that Horton had kicked in the door to her home and pointed a gun at her. A January 2019 domestic assault charge was dismissed in February.
Horton, who has convictions for facilitating 2nd degree murder and attempted aggravated robbery, is considered to be armed and dangerous. If you see him or know his whereabouts please call 615-862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
