Two middle school students have been arrested so far this week for making the following unrelated threats.
A 14-year-old John F. Kennedy Middle School student told classmates that he would be the next school shooter and pointed at another student when he made a statement regarding his reference list. He was charged in Juvenile Court with false reporting and making a threat of mass violence.
A 13-year-old Wright Middle School student told a classmate that he planned to bring an AK-47 firearm to school the next day. He was charged with false reporting.
Threats against schools and institutions are taken very seriously by the MNPD. Those responsible, once identified, will be prosecuted.
