Update: A 15-year-old suspect was arrested this afternoon for the attempted shoplifting Saturday at Tanger Outlets. He will be charged in juvenile court with organized retail theft and felony vandalism. The investigation into the other three suspects is ongoing.
South Precinct detectives are continuing to investigate Saturday afternoon’s attempted shoplifting at Perfumania in the Tanger Outlets. Four suspects, who employees said had visited twice in the last week, attempted to steal hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise, but bystanders held the front door to block them from exiting. The suspects were able to leave through the back door but dropped all of the merchandise in order to exit empty handed.
